We Conquered – Warrior Dash Ontario

Howdy amigas!  I made it through last week and it feels GOOOOOOOOD.  In typical Morgan tradition I bit off more than I could chew, but luckily I choked it down. Last Monday was my personal trainer final exam.  Wooohoooo – I’m officially certified now.  Saturday was Warrior Dash.

Here’s the thing about Warrior Dash, everyone kept saying how easy the race is.  Well my friends, easy is relative.  It wasn’t easy for me, and I spent the last 10 weeks struggling with my confidence and thinking that I was less fit than everyone else who was calling it easy.  But now that I’ve accomplished it, WHO CARES – I feel awesome, and super proud of myself.

I trained for 10 weeks.  I saw my doctor for physical therapy.  I ran hills, I went to the gym, I iced, I foam rolled, I wrapped and taped…..

I conquered.

Don’t let someone else’s opinion mess with your goals.  The course was intense, so much uphill, so many walls to climb over and drop off.  And yes, so much mud.

Official time: 58:47

Placed: 429/1780 Women 20-29

Along this training plan, I trimmed up and dropped some weight and got a whole bunch stronger.  The end of July marks a year of weight loss efforts.  I can’t wait to show you my progress.  But for now, I shall revel in my Warrior Dash medal (which is also a beer bottle opener, hehehe).

Congrats! I love the Warrior Dash and it was my first ever mud run. It got me hooked and now I do as many as I can fit into my schedule. And yes, I hate how some people call it easy. It may not be a Tough Mudder but it is still a challenge.

  2. Ummm that is a very interesting picture of me squatting in a very un-lady-like fashion haha WAY TO GO MORGS!

  3. I don’t think you understand how impressed and proud of you that I am. Every time I looked back there you were pushing hard, on my heels or ahead of me and I was blown away. I’m so happy that we got to run the race together. I’m so impressed with your training and focus and dedication. I heart you and your gumption :)

You’re a machine! Congratulations Morgan! I don’t think I would ever be able to do this, but then again maybe I would ;)

  5. Danielle says:

I guess it is all relative – but that sure doesn’t look easy to me! Especially some of the video footage in Truly Daily!

    Woohoo for completing it!

Well I have to say Warrior Dash kicked my butt!
It was sooo hard! I’m proud of myself for finishing it, but I’ll never do it again. Unless it’s like childbirth and I forget how terrible it was Lol
Congrats on finishing, and in under an hour!!!

    : )

    That’s awesome. Great accomplishment.

  8. Congratulations, finishing a race is always a task and calling it easy can mess with people’s mental state. Glad you had a great time!
