For those of you in Toronto you should definitely check out the Fuel+ Grand Opening party this Friday.

It’s my old boss’s coffee place / juice bar / natural food store, etc.  It’s honestly a super awesome place and they’re having a big party on Friday so stop by.  Address: 471 Church Street, Toronto, Ontario.  (Not sure exactly what time I’ll be stopping by but if you’re going let me know!)

Okay official announcements are over, but I also wanted to share something else with you.  Brad is doing all the cooking and food prep this week.  We didn’t quite get everything done on Sunday night so Monday night he got to making Curry Chickpea Burgers.  Since I was over at Robyn’s he was texting me questions.

He couldn’t get the food processor to turn on so he texted me this photo:

We figured out that he had the handle facing the wrong way.  So process he did.  And when I got home he informed me that he now knows what it’s like to hold baby diarrhea.  Apparently he didn’t like the consistency of the burgers as he was forming them into burger shape.

Okay to the title of the post: PATIENCE.

I have none of it, none.  Everything must be now.  Me, you, my friends, my family, everything must do everything now.  All the results I want, now.

I’d wager a guess that patience is the reason most people quit their weight loss plan, or whatever health or fitness goals they have.  Do you have any idea how much it kills me that it took me four months to lose 3 lbs and that it took me four months for my progress pics to look the way they did.  I wanted those results in a month (heck I was probably expecting like two weeks).

We’re at the point of the month where a lot of people have given up on their New Year’s Resolutions, especially the weight loss ones.  Well I want to get all preachy (cheesy?) here and say

DON’T GIVE UP …

Have patience, have faith, pick yourself up and dust yourself off.

Etc, etc, etc.  If the results weren’t what you wanted, if you didn’t follow through with your behavioural changes, whatever it is that tripped you up, figure it out and keep on going.  Let February be the month where you say “hey … I still got this, I’m still doing it”.

And my last piece of advice – make SMALL changes.  No overhauls!!!!!

On a scale of 1-10 how much patience do you have?  Do you have more patience for some parts of your life (maybe at work) and less in other places (like weight loss).

**Inside Morgan secret.  I had patience as the soft skill on my performance development plan at my old job for many many quarters, eventually we just took it off and tried a new skill :P (just ask said boss that was mentioned above who now owns the juice bar).
