I’m not really a resolutions / goals / etc. person anymore. I left 2012 knowing that I put as much time possible into my school work, improved my fitness efforts, and made more family time than ever. If I keep on keeping on (or rather building on) those successes then 2013 will be just as wonderful as a year.
So although this isn’t a resolutions post, it is a post to present a fitness challenge that I’m hosting this month. Because it’s cold out, and because I love lifting more than I love cardio, and because coordinating efforts with my friends is fun, and just because I want to, allow me to introduce you to:
Myself, Robyn (RobynBaldwin.com), Jess (Truly Jess), and Krysten (The Misadventures of a Darwinian Fail) are teaming up to motivate you to go the distance this year. Start by joining us on a fitness challenge. Every week we set distance goals, make your goal, leave a comment and you get entered into our prize draw. Every week a different one of us bloggers will be giving a prize away.
Ways to earn your distance:
- running
- walking
- stair master
- elliptical
- rowing machine
- swimming
- biking / spin
I’m going to focus my efforts on a combination of walking and the rowing machine with perhaps a little stationary bike thrown in. Check back on Monday to see what my goals are and start recording your goals too!
The challenge starts on Monday January 7th and runs until Sunday February 3rd.

It feels great to offer you guys a fitness challenge again, man it’s been a while. And as always with my challenges – ALL FITNESS LEVELS WELCOME. I encourage you to set any goal that seems achievable for you. If you’re going from no exercise to walking around the block – that’s just as awesome as those of you who are training for a race.

Im from the uk but would still love to get involved if I can! Not sure how I would monitor distance in spinning – any tips on estimating? I run too though!
