Do You Detect The Theme?

Can I just start this post by saying SOMEONE ate pumpkin pie for breakfast.  SOMEONE that got up before I did because I’m addicted to the sick game that is my snooze button.  For the record, I won’t be sympathetic when he has a stomach ache in an hour.

Second, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  Thanksgiving means that Christmas is just around the corner (and we all know that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year don’t we).  I took a quick break to run to my Dad’s for dinner on Sunday night.  It was all I had time for.  My weekend was spent doing the same thing that kept me from blogging all week.  If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you already know.  But maybe these pictures will tip you off.  Do you detect a theme?

Food and studying, yes you guessed it!

My first midterm is tomorrow.  I’ve got a handful of papers due in the next few weeks and then another midterm.  Hold me :P

But as you can tell I’ve been eating nice and healthy food.  My other goal for this month is sleep.  The real test will come over the next few weeks.  The problem is not just that I stay up late working, it’s that I get insomnia from the stress.  Let’s see what I can do to handle it this time.  Wish me luck!

Any tips for handling exam stress?

It’s so trite but it works for me. Meditation before bed!!!

  2. Make sure you get enough sleep! Whenever I’m in exam time (or paper time – I’ll be getting there in a couple weeks) and I attempt to stay up late or pull all nighters, I just make it worse – I end up groggy and unable to retain anything that I stayed up to study for.

unfortunately I’m quite good at not sleeping, I work well in crisis situations hahaha … but it can’t be good for my weight loss efforts – I’m thinking that this lack of sleep could have contributed to the original weight gain

    Take breaks!
I always found I could focus easily for 1hour, then my mind would wander. Instead of forcing myself to study I’d just go do something else for 10mins, walk, get a coffee, have a snack… made it much easier to refocus.

I’m bad at scheduling breaks – I should set a timer or something – did you ever do that?

  4. Happy Thanksgiving! Good luck on your midterms!

funny – I happen to know a marathon happening this weekend, I’d be happy to feed you some pie on Sunday and get Krysten to drag your ass to the starting line ;)

Good luck with your uber busy week! Just make sure to take some breaks and I generally like to take an hour/ two off before the test and just relax :)

yeah I agree – I have a cut off time too, I take a coffee and food break right before I write

      thanks!
