Let There Be Heat

Soooooo it’s kind of fall-like out there eh?  Yesterday it got pretty chilly.  As in “I should have worn a jacket” chilly.  When I got home yesterday afternoon I was supposed to get straight to work at my desk.  But do you have any idea how cold it was at my desk? Freezing!

I took my laptop to the couch and wound myself in blankets making a fleece-y cocoon.  Two hours later, I had done no work and was chilled to the bone.

Enter:

My (other) true love.  My space heater.  Burn me once shame on you, burn me twice … I’ll keep coming back for more because I’m just sooooooo cold.

After that was set up I could counteract my space heater’s effort by making banana soft serve with peanut butter.

Chill-tastic y’all ;)

Eventually the heat actually came on in my apartment (we don’t control the heat) so I turned off the space heater and walked free (sans cocoon.)  I did what any regular temperature-d gal would do with her freedom – make dinner!

We ate pretty late last night because of my impromptu decision to make my own spaghetti sauce.  Brad came home last night and demanded we go out to the garden to pick tomatoes.  Ohhhhh nelly there was a good haul.

I made the most delicious homemade sauce with tomatoes, a green pepper, lots of garlic, some coarse salt, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper.

So good I forgot to snap a pic before I dove in.

So much deliciousness!!!!

Staying warm tips?  Or is it still super hot where you live?

Yep, it’s been quite cold over here lately, too. Fall is definitely here to stay. A few days ago I turned on the heater in our bathroom. Thankfully it worked (we don’t control the heat, either). Nothing worse than stepping out of the shower into a cold room. Brrr!

  2. It’s definitely getting chilly…and we don’t control our heat either. Clearly, I need to invest in a space heater.

It has been pretty chilly in the GTA and I actually ended up running on the treadmill instead of outside :( Definitely have been spending a lot of time covered up with my blanky (I just hate wearing tones of clothing)

  4. it is getting really chilly out! I need to stop leaving the house in the morning with just shorts and a short sleeve shirt! I will be breaking out the heater soon!
