If we just finished the last weekend of July, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was the perfect blend of productivity and fun.
We didn’t exactly get all of our chores done. But laundry can always wait for Monday, right?
Saturday we watched the Olympics all afternoon. After I spent enough time wishing I looked like an Olympic athlete, we headed to the gym. Every once in a while Brad and I do the same workout. On Saturday he took me through a new leg workout he was doing. There were a lot of squats, so very many squats. Since I’m already working out my legs three times a week, I wasn’t too sore on Sunday morning. Meanwhile Brad was very limpy in the morning
After our workout we tried out the new The Simply Bar pea protein chips.
My fav was the herb flavour while Brad liked the chilli flavour. The chilli chips were packing some heat!
These chips were SO delicious. It was the perfect snack. The serving size was good, just enough.
I wouldn’t trade this for my regular post-workout protein drink. The chips are a great snack but I’m not sure how they work for recovery purposes. These would be perfect to pack in my lunch. I’m always at a loss for protein snacks to pair with fruit.
Yesterday Brad and I met Lily at the pool for some sun and a little exercise.
And we finished off the evening with some BBQ for dinner. I had grilled tofu, Brad had sausage, plus grilled tomatoes, peppers, and green onions, red quinoa, and goat cheese.
Nope, it doesn’t get any better than this!
It’s my last week of school this week, and final exams start next week so I have some major studying to do (as usual).
Pool or beach? What Olympic matches did you watch this weekend? (I assume everyone watched Phelps vs Lochte.)
