Last night I got home from an absolutely wonderful long weekend. You know when you really need to get out of the city and away from all your busy stuff? Yeah that was last weekend. I did bring a bit of homework but escaping my office or the library was such a relief. Being a student is hard sometimes!
The weekend was a perfect blend of adventures and relaxing. (Did anyone else go to a parade this weekend? I LOVE parades, and small town parades are even better!!!)
Thanks to sharing the weekend with my friend Kate, we had a fairly healthy weekend too. We brought lots of healthy food and had some workouts at the cottage.
Here’s her quinoa salad:
Saturday we did tonnes of walking at the beach and a mini hike. Sunday I did Kate’s Bootycamp Fitness DVD with her. Yesterday she did my physical therapy workout with me. For the record it was way too hot to be doing lunges, even in the shade.
Sunday morning I also went out by myself for a ride at the beach.
I LOVE having bikes at the cottage. We’re a couple kilometres from the beach so they’re good transportation or a good workout.
Oh, and here’s my new bike. It’s a child’s bike but I think I might start learning BMX type tricks for it
… yeah they’re all instagram pics. I’m totally addicted to instagram, follow me: lifeafterbagels.
Refreshed, regrouped, relaxed, and other words that start with “re” … so now I can get back to work. I’ve got six weeks left of the semester and then final exams.
What kind of weekend away let’s you regroup? Do you like a busy weekend, a laying by the pool weekend?

What a fun weekend, and I love your instagram picks. I love weekends where you have fun things to do but can do them at your own pace!
yes because weekends usually end up being a whirlwind and they’re gone before you know it … eh?
Sounds nice! I enjoy getting away, too, even if I still have responsibilities. Sometimes a change of scenery makes it all better.
That quinoa salad – yum!
yes … change of scenery like a forest … how could you not feel refreshed in a forest?
That weekend sounds wonderful! I generally like a busy weekend full of fun stuff, but I forget that I need a “lay by the pool” weekend every once in a while!
There is no shame in instagram lovin’. None.
Also, that quinoa salad looks divine.
I like the picture you took at the lake.
What a great weekend, Morgan! Love the pic of you on your bike
