Good morning! Isn’t waking up to Wimbledon everyday a wonderful thing. YES IT IS!!!! (I’m telling you, not asking
)
It’s so hard not to think about the weekend. I am literally dying of excitement about my long weekend. (Hey US friends, do you get a long weekend or how exactly does your July 4th holiday work?)
Yesterday I only had a few minutes for a workout but I wanted to slip one in. I browsed the newest Blogilates uploads and picked the muffin top one. Two moves in, I realized that this was a bad idea. See, last week while adding twists to my lunges I pulled something in my left side. It’s actually the muscles that run between the ribs. (On Monday I had to breath air in to cause my ribs to separate so my doctor could get in there and do the “soft tissue massage” AKA poke the sh** out of it causing intense pain.) The obliques are close-ish to that area so I quickly turned that video off in search of a new one. I decided to do the Awesomesauce Arms again.
Today is another round of my lower body exercises. Yes squats and lunges! (Side note: in the comment section yesterday, and on FB, and Twitter, SO many of you said you hated lunges. Poor lunges what did they ever do to you?)
On to this rethinking fuel discussion. I imagine that my thoughts on eating and fuel are a rubik’s cube and that it is constantly twisting and showing me new sides. Then I imagine my thoughts on Brad’s fuel to be like doing a rubik’s cube with my eyes closed. Basically, I just keep rethinking our meal plans and hope that someday all of the colours will line up.
Some weeks I cannot fill Brad up. Like last night, for example. He ate an entire quiche (4 servings) and half a jumbo bag of broccoli slaw. We’ve both always eaten a lot, especially because we workout. But over the last 6ish months he’s always hungry. This isn’t surprising because he’s probably doubled his exercise efforts in the last 6 months.
So help me out …
Give me some really filling meal and snack ideas. What do you eat when you just can’t fill yourself up?

I find eggs usually do the trick! Veggie omelet (with lots of vegetables). Greek or sheep’s yogurt is pretty satisfying in the morning. Curries with chickpeas and sweet potatoes. Avocado also is really filling for me!
LOVE avocado … he’s not a fan (but that means more for me!)
We go in waves with eggs. Sometimes we’ll eat them everyday and sometimes we’ll go for a week without having them. I should make a more conscious effort to make them consistent, good idea!
I REALLY wish I could help. But I have having the same exact issue. He’s just always hungry!! So keep me updated on any of your findings.
I’ve got one of those too, except I tend to out eat him :/ If you find a magic solution PLEASE tell me, we go through an obscene amount of food every week!
I used to out-eat him too … but since he’s really magnified his training efforts it’s like he’s eating for a family of 4!!!!
Haha, ice-cream! lol
Seriously though…I have quiona!
he already eats ice cream every night … dear god I hope he didn’t read your comment hahaha
I blogged about mindful eating today—and so in that vein Im not much help BUT we’re awake and going around here already and the HUSBAND says “air popped popcorn”
so theres that….
