Yesterday was an absolute delight, mostly because I didn’t really have anything pressing to do. Imagine that!
After my doctor’s appointment yesterday he asked (as he does every Monday) “what are you doing for the rest of the day?” I thought about it … and finally laughed and said “I don’t know.” It’s the first time all month I didn’t tell him I was heading to the library.
My physical therapy workouts continue to get harder and harder. Yesterday we added weights to my walking lunges and I had to do one legged dead lifts. This is SUCH a difference versus any of the times I’ve went to physio in the past. Obviously that’s why I’m seeing great results. I have a tendency of quitting physio when I don’t see results. I keep telling myself to do this but I keep forgetting – but I have GOT to make a list of all of the exercises he’s given me to do over my treatment time. I’ve now got a bag of tricks that contains more than 12 new exercises, most of them with at least 2-3 variations. Plus I’ve got a tonne of posture and body positioning tips.
After my appointment I did a bit of work while I ate lunch. Then I took a nap (yahooooo!) , followed by a bit of homework.
Oh and I must share this funny photo with you. Brad made a whole chicken last night and I snapped this pic while he was prepping.
At 10pm I decided to hit the hay early with my new book club book.
I only got a few pages in before I passed out. THEN I slept in this morning. After napping yesterday afternoon I still slept 9 1/2 hours last night. Guess all that late night studying caught up with me. Oh sweet slumber!
Ahhhhh now I’m waking up to Wimbledon. By the way (and I know many of you wrote yesterday that you’re not really tennis fans but I figure someone has to want to talk about this) … Venus out in the first round eh? Whoa! The last time she was defeated in the first round was 1997.
If you had to pick between lunges and squats what would you pick?
Comments on Venus?
Have you read Fall On Your Knees?

Im not even a tennis fan (tho I work for fila
go figure) and was shocked she’s already out.
Im excited however my man JT is still in there.
he’s tough competition.
xo
you want to know what I would like, if JT played Roddick … now THAT would be bringing sexy back
Fall on Your Knees by Anne Marie Macdonald is one of my all time FAVOURITE BOOKS! ENJOY!
I don’t know if I’ve read that book or not. It looks really familiar, I know I’ve thought about reading it, but I do not know if I actually ever read it. Hmmm.
I like squats, lunges do something crazy to my knees. :S
that happens to me all the time
I read Fall On Your Knees for an English course in University…its intense but you should love it!!!
intense is the word I keep getting about that book … now I’m scared haha
I love squats (deadlifts too) of all kinds; barbell, dumbell, different foot stances you name it I do it. Lunges? H A T E. Which of course means I need to do them… If they’re hard that’s good, right?
yeah hard is definitely good … that’s why my doctor keeps telling me – that I have to stay on the edge of my ability and he keeps pushing me
Lunges for sure!
I read Fall On Your Knees in University
Kierston you are like one of the only people who said lunges
Lucky you…a day off! I love those sorts of days!
oh so lucky indeed … I hadn’t had a day off from my specific study plan for weeks!
my butt/thighs/legs are sad, so it’s been MAJOR squats AND lunges on the menu for months.
so if I keep going for months I can have a sassy butt too … TO THE GYM!
It’s great to hear that you’re getting a lot out of your physio appointments. It’s so sad that we can’t take that for granted, isn’t it? If you ever put together than list of exercises you’ve been working on with him, please share it with us! I would love to see what a physio thinks is most effective.
Also, I read Fall On Your Knees ages ago, and was devastated by it. Definitely worth the read!
Hi Mandi!
My physical therapy is actually with a chiropractor not a physiotherapist. He’s had some pretty specialized training so I’m very lucky with my treatment plan. I’m not sure what all of the exercises are called, but let me see what I can do – thanks for the recommendation!
YAHOO! You are reading my favorite book! I think I even suggested it for your book club, so maybe I seeped into your subconscious bwahaha.
Congrats to being done school! I finished last Friday
YES you did … I tried to find that FB thread to see who it was to give them credit for it but could not find it …. FB you jerks!
Hey, you have free time for pleasure reading again! That must be a great feeling.
Personally, I love squats but hate lunges. Squats make me feel accomplished; lunges make me feel rage-y.
