At 25 days to go, I posted that it was the final countdown to my Ride for Heart. But since it’s really REALLY the final countdown now I shall sing again for you:
“It’s the fiiiiiiinal countdown. Dooooo doooo doooo dooooo. Dooooo do do do dooooo. Doooo dooooo dooooo doooo. Dooooo do do do do do doooooooo dooooooo do do do do do do doooooooooo. The final countdooooooown”
Only 3 days left until I ride. Yesterday I got back on my bike for the first time since I pulled those muscles in my hip. I hit my favourite trail and did a few roads around my house.
While riding my muscles felt okay. But for the six hours afterwards they tightened right up. I was in quite a bit of pain at school yesterday afternoon. I iced, I stretched, and stretched, and stretched and then iced again when I got home last night. It’s a little frustrating to have been training so hard, both on my bike and at physical therapy to have a pulled muscle spring up a week before my ride. But it is what it is and I remain optimistic that I’ll be able to ride the full distance on Sunday.
Aside from the physical part of my week I’m also trying to eat well. I’ve been having lots of fruits and veggies with and between meals. I snacked on this fruit bowl while I was doing my physical therapy exercises yesterday.
