That’s it, it’s happened. I’ve run amuck. Now that I don’t work on the weekends I have become quite the little social butterfly.
I was so so so SO excited to have the first blogger meet up of the year yesterday.
We ate at Commensal restaurant at Bay and Elm. I’m trying to recall what I piled onto my plate here. I had tomato soup, seitan sheppard’s pie, roasted mixed veggies, broccoli, curried tofu (I think it was tofu, who can say), and quinoa.
Group photo time! I always wonder what people sitting around are thinking. I imagine it to be something like this:
“Wow that’s a large group of girls isn’t it.”
“Hmmmm that large party over there seems to be quite chatty and boisterous.”
“Ummmmm are they ALL photographing their food?”
“Wait did that girl with the adorable side braid (moi) just take her plate over to the window for better lighting?”
“Ummmmm yeah I guess I can take a photo for you.”
THANKS!

Ready for the roller coaster that was the rest of my day? Then I went to the gym . . . YAY! How cliche is that. ”What did you do today Morgan?” ”Oh me, you know just went to a vegetarian buffet with some bloggers and then to the gym”
. . . and then I did a road race, and then I did yoga, then I meditated, then I baked some organic energy bars, and then I had a juice detox for dinner.
So not quite the juice detox. Far from it. This is SO sad but I have to be honest and tell you that those cheese curds I got in my CSA were totally disappointing
It didn’t taste bad or anything. It just didn’t taste as magnificent as I had imagined when I unpacked the magic on Thursday evening.
Back to exciting – I finally finished my essay on Hamlet. Hooray! I held myself hostage at my desk until it was done which was at about 9:15 last night. Then I put on my best cotton t-shirt and hit the town with Lily. Yeah I actually went out two nights in a row. See the problem with not working on the weekend means that I have no excuse to bail even though it’s 50 below. The evening was camera free because I decided against bringing a purse. Silly me that meant I also had no keys which wasn’t a problem until 2am and Brad was sleeping and I needed to get in the house. He heard his phone and woke up. Crisis averted!
Today’s homework is science and math. Nope that’s not a joke. Goodbye Hamlet, hello Newton’s law of motion.
When was the last time you were at a restaurant with a large group? What was the occasion?

The last group restaurant outing I went too was a blogger meet up that provided great conversation and fun….looks like your group was a bit larger.
Thank you again Morgan for organizing. I had such a good time and am really looking forward to the next one
“I think it was tofu”…LMAO! Sounds like so much fun!
Well last Saturday I went out with a bunch of lovely ladies and had an amazing vegetarian buffet… oh wait! It was great seeing you, we definitely need to do a coffee date soon
xo
I love blogger meet ups! I wish we had more bloggers in VT (I only know of 2). I have never had very good experiences at Commensal – both in Montreal and Quebec City our food was just okay or awful.
It looks like you all had fun! Unfortunately, I will be at a restaurant with a very large group tomorrow…for a work dinner. There will be about 20 of us. Luckily, I get to bring my hubby, so it won’t be all bad.
I had so.
Much.
FUN!
Thank you so much for organizing the lunch and for inviting me – I met so many amazing new people and had conversations that kept my brain buzzing for the rest of the day!. I knew I was going to enjoy myself but the afternoon still managed to exceed my expectations
Can’t wait for the next one!
Thanks for organizing Morgan! I love Toronto blogger meet-ups, I always leave feeling so inspired
