Oh dear me. My Christmas breakdown finally came, just 48 hours before the big day. I was up at the crack of dawn this morning to get some last minute things complete before I went to work. First I started whipping up same baked goods that I needed to use as gifts – total fail. Then my gift for Brad fell through.
Ah well. Nothing I can do about it now, I’m off to work until late tonight and I start at 7am tomorrow. Somehow I’ll have to figure something out, and I will. Even though it’s Christmas, and I’m running a store, I always find a way to pull everything off by the 25th.
Let’s move on to something more successful, my meals! OMG take a look at this oatmeal. It’s steel cut oats with a spoonful of cream cheese and a bunch of home made jam.
Then somehow, I spent the entire morning craving this concoction. This is the most gardeny garden wrap. It’s lettuce and sprouts (from my CSA bag) and hummus.
Have you had a Christmas SNAFU this year?

I haven’t had any big issues yet (knock on wood).
Today I leave straight from work to hit the road for an 8-9 hour trip. It’s safe to assume SOMETHING has been forgotten. Can’t wait to see what it is… (inevitably, I’ll figure it out when I’m already home in the middle of nowhere)
I hope you get something figured out, but its great that you’re not stressing too much about it. I’m just hoping to make up for the Thanksgiving snafus–I didn’t realize how much my son wanted whipped cream (not vanilla ice cream) for the pie . . . .
We live 5 minutes from 3 different grocery stores and several 7-11′s, so I’m sure we can find anything at the last minute. Plus, since my kids are older we don’t have the last minute battery runs like we used to! I am amused that Amazon is promoting its down-loadable gifts for instant giving!
thought we did – but it came together at the last minute and now it’s just a quick trip into town to the post office and Christmas crisis #1 has been averted. I have numbered as I know there will be more….!
how about forgetting what you have already purchased and buying way more than you should have…does that count?
The dough for cinammon rolls for christmas breakfast that is currently NOT rising could quickly be my SNAFU. Especially since I made not one, not two, but THREE trips to the store today to pick up forgotten ingredients…..no way in hell am I making more if this fails. We’ll substitute with bagels.
My dad came home sick and now my brother, my sister’s boy and I are all SICK. Like, mucus and germ everywhere sick.
No worries though – we’ll find a way to get the turkey done. Even if it does infect everyone else. =]
Good luck with the retail – I’ll be thinking about you!
